Diner Brew Co., founded by Chris Sheldon in 2016, actually began years before, when Chris started brewing beer in his college dorm – and it turned out better than what was available at the local college bars. As so often happens with "hobbies," Chris was hooked on brewing beer and cider, and began growing his manufacturing capacity when he returned home to New Rochelle. With the help of his childhood friend, business partner and current lead engineer Sam Farber-Kaiser, Diner Brew Co. was born.
After taking some time to learn the art of brewing and selling beer at The Westchester Homebrew Emporium, Gristmill Distillers, and joining the Westchester Homebrewers Organization, Chris became one of the founding members of the Dogs of Wort homebrewing club and brought two more people into the Diner family. Pedro Santos, Diner's Head Brewer, became an integral part of cider production in 2016, and Eric Andrada, Diner's Cellar Man and Lead Technician, was always around to keep operations running smoothly. Completing the team is Meredith Bronzo, the Director of Events for the newly-opened taproom and Diner's other mobile offerings.
At Diner Brew Co., you can expect beer and cider made with only New York State ingredients, manufactured locally in Mount Vernon, and sold at Diner's tap room in New Rochelle. Diner is a completely independent brewery, run by owner-operators. Grabbing a pint at the tap room is an easy way to support New York State farms, local suppliers where ingredients are sourced, and small business owners in your community.
Diner pledges to keep you close to local agriculture in each glass we pour, and to stay dedicated to historical beer and cider interpretation, while making creative new products for your enjoyment.
