African American Heritage Trail
Westchester County, located in the scenic Hudson valley, is rich in African American history and offers a variety of ways for families of all cultural backgrounds to experience the contributions men and women of African descent have made to the American experience.
Among the ways we recognize the African American journey here in Westchester are through historical landmarks that date back to the 17th century. Sites on the African American Trail enhance our appreciation for the significant legacies woven into the fabric of our county.
