Prioritizing digital inclusion

In our effort to provide a fully accessible and optimized experience for our website visitors, Westchester County Tourism & Film has taken measures to help ensure an enhanced user experience, whether the website visitor is using assistive technologies such as a screen reader, magnifier, or other assistive technology to access the website.

This website is monitored and tested by AudioEye, a third-party provider of Web Accessibility testing and monitoring. AudioEye tools are accessed on VisitWestchesterNY.com by clicking on the icon located on the bottom right of every webpage within the site. AudioEye offers:

  • Personalization tools
    The personalization tools can be used to customize the visual display of the website.
  • Page elements navigation
    Users can navigate easily through any page by element or content hierarchy.

Results of automated testing are reported to Westchester County Tourism & Film in the AudioEye platform. AudioEye remediates discovered issues or provides a Source Feedback Report (SFR) for Westchester County Tourism & Film to remediate the issue in collaboration with Simpleview, our website platform. To continually provide an enhanced experience, AudioEye continually refines its existing solutions.

The AudioEye certification process involves automatic and, if applicable, expert review, remediation and user testing to increase conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA Success Criteria. AudioEye and Westchester County Tourism & Film continue to collaborate in an ongoing effort to help maintain conformance with the success criteria and help provide an accessible user experience for all website visitors.

Improving the user experience for everyone

Westchester County Tourism & Film has leveraged the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as reference to help ensure the web content made available from this website is more accessible for individuals with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone. These globally recognized best practices (as recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium) consist of three levels of accessibility measurement (A, AA, and AAA). AudioEye references Level AA of these guidelines in helping provide accessibility.
