Museums and Historic Homes
Located on the Yonkers waterfront, the Hudson River Museum offers engaging experiences for every age and interest with a growing collection of American art; dynamic exhibitions that range from notable 9th-century paintings to contemporary art installations; Glenview, an 1877 house on the National Register of Historic Places, a state-of-the-art planetarium, environmental teaching gallery and outdoor amphitheater.
Accessibility notes: The facility is accessible and offers wheelchairs for loan. It is served directly by Bee-Line Route 1, which stops at the museum entrance.

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site
The oldest house in Yonkers, Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site was built in three stages between the 1680s and 1750s by the Philipse family and the Africans they enslaved. Once the wealthiest family in New York, the Philipses were Loyalists during the American Revolution and fled to England following the war. Today, two floors of interactive, ADA-accessible exhibits tell the story of the confluence of cultures between the Munsee Lunaape, enslaved Africans, and European colonists on the Philipse lands.
Accessibility notes: Fully accessible to wheelchair users, featuring a newly constructed accessible wing with an elevator to the second floor and ADA-compliant bathrooms. It is a few blocks from the Yonkers Metro-North Train Station, connected directly by Bee-Line Bus Route 1.

Creative, hands-on, STEAM-based playful learning for kids of all ages. Located on the historic Playland Boardwalk.

Performing Arts Venues
Known as "The Historic Rock Palace," the Capitol Theatre is the place to see live music and host events. The 1,800 capacity theatre features the charm of an historic playhouse with state of the art sound systems, lights and projection. Rock 'n' roll legends such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, and the Grateful Dead have performed here.
Accessibility notes: The Orchestra section includes an elevated platform with designated wheelchair-accessible and limited mobility seating. Accessible seating is available on the main floor, either behind the Orchestra section or behind the General Admission floor, and does not require the use of stairs. Staff can provide assistance with guiding guests around the Theatre, sign language interpretation, or priority entrance/exit requests. The Theatre is within steps of the Port Chester Metro-North Train Station and is reachable by Bee-Line Bus routes 13 and 61.

The Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Purchase College
A four-theatre complex located on the campus of Purchase College, SUNY, offering world-class performing arts events from internationally acclaimed artists to rising stars and creative practitioners.
Accessibility notes: This modern, ADA-compliant facility has accessible indoor theater, music, and dance performances. It provides a cultural outing with a direct bus connection (Bee-Line Bus Route 12) from the White Plains TransCenter (adjacent to the White Plains Metro-North Train Station).

A performing arts space with a robust calender of events throughout the year. It is also home to the Westchester Knicks, the exclusive NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks.
Accessibility notes: A large, ADA-compliant public venue in White Plains for events and shows, offering a fully accessible indoor experience. It is a short ride from the White Plains Metro-North Train Station and the TransCenter via multiple routes, including Bee-Line Bus Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 13, 20, and 21.

Parks, Pathways and Gardens
These outdoor destinations feature wide, maintained pathways suitable for accessible rolling, walking, and adaptive winter recreation.
Trails Without Limits
The Trails Without Limits program offers people with mobility concerns the opportunity to hike and bike the trails at Westchester County Parks, using All-Terrain Trackchairs and handcycles.
Alfred B. DelBello Muscoot Farm Park
A 777-acre interpretive farm with a turn-of-the-century feel. Farm animals and equipment, historic buildings, hiking and nature trails, plus a farmer's market on Sundays from May-November.
Accessibility notes: Muscoot has two new ADA-accessible hayride wagons for fall seasonal activities. The farm also participates in the Trails Without Limits program, giving visitors with mobility concerns access to trails. While no single route runs directly to the entrance, a key connection from a Metro-North hub to the local area is Bee-Line Route 19 (Connecting Ossining and Mount Kisco Metro-North Stations to the local hub).

A 22-acre nature preserve with woods, streams, and a large wetland area. The boardwalk trail passes through a gazebo for observation of wetland wildlife.
Accessibility notes: A one-quarter mile long accessible boardwalk trail provides a level surface for people to safely enter the woods and cross the wetland. Pull-offs with benches along the boardwalk allow approaching wheelchairs to pass easily and also provide seating to quietly enjoy wildlife. Access is from the Croton-on-Hudson Metro-North Station (Hudson Line) via Bee-Line Route 13.

A 97-acre property at the base of the Croton Dam with impressive views of the dam and spillway. It is a popular spot for fishing, picnicking and hiking.
Accessibility notes: The historic New Croton Dam area offers paved walkways. Access is from the Croton-on-Hudson Metro-North Station (Hudson Line) via Bee-Line Route 13.

Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge Path (Tarrytown Landing)
A 3.6-mile multi-use bridge pathway crossing the Hudson River with six overlooks and amenities at each landing including welcome centers, interactive displays, public art and restrooms. The Westchester Landing is located less than a mile from downtown Tarrytown.
Accessibility notes: Fully paved and accessible, providing spectacular, year-round views of the Hudson River. Access is near the Tarrytown Metro-North Station (Hudson Line) via Bee-Line Routes 1 and 13.

The historic dam features a September 11th memorial, scenic picnic areas and events from concerts to antique shows.
Accessibility notes: This historic landmark park has expansive, paved walkways ideal for accessible strolling. When covered in snow, the broad slopes are a popular spot for recreational accessible sledding and general snow play. It is served directly from the White Plains TransCenter (adjacent to the White Plains Metro-North Train Station) by Bee-Line Bus routes 40, 41, and 43.

Peekskill Riverfront Green Park / Landing
A vibrant park featuring a shoreline boardwalk, a pedestrian footbridge leading to Riverfront Green Park, docks for kayaks and small watercraft, a gazebo and trellis, and trails.
Accessibility notes: A paved, flat, and easily accessible path running along the Hudson River, located immediately adjacent to the Peekskill Metro-North Train Station (Hudson Line). Direct Bee-Line Bus access is provided by routes 14/17 and 15 (which serve the station).

Rockefeller State Park Preserve (Rockwood Hall Section)
A popular recreational spot offering carriage trails, wetlands, woodlands, meadows, fields and lakes for hiking, horseback riding, fishing and Visitor Center Art Gallery.
Accessibility notes: The Rockwood Hall park section has wide, crushed-stone carriage roads which are generally low-grade and suitable for accessible rolling and walking. The site is a key location for the Trails Without Limits all-terrain track chair program. Access is via the Tarrytown or Ossining Metro-North Stations (Hudson Line) on Bee-Line Route 13, stopping at Phelps Hospital.

Magnificent ornamental gardens including the Walled Garden, Temple of Love, the Vista, Gate House, Rock Garden. Sculptures, fountains, and waterfalls. The majestic landscape includes views of the Hudson River and the Palisades.

Adaptive Winter Sports
These venues offer access to adaptive winter sports and recreation, including organized sled hockey and skating. If you or someone you know are interested in learning more about adaptive winter sports, start by reaching out to an established organization. We’ve provided a list of groups that are either based in Westchester or have a Westchester branch or contact. The accessible parks listed above provide great terrain for independent recreational activities such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. For highly specialized sports like sled hockey, please contact the specific rink and organization in advance to arrange ice time and adaptive equipment.
